Two Blue Beach Chairs On The Beach Under A White Umbrella Facing the Ocean On A Clear Blue Day With Clouds

I'm not ready for summer to end yet. I revel in warm weather, bright sunny days, and the exhilaration of being outdoors.

As the not to subtle signs of fall approach in the form of back to school ads, Halloween merchandise, and pumpkin spice everything, I can't help but yearn for the early days of summer when the days stretched out as long as a beach blanket.

Summer may be slipping away, but all is not lost. There's still a sliver of summer left for us to enjoy. If you haven't had the opportunity, do something big or small to celebrate summer or the end of it.

Buy a double dip cone and see if you can finish it before the summer heat melts it. Go to a sporting event or outdoor concert. Dip your toe into a cool body of water. Even a kiddie pool or bathtub will do. Run through the sprinklers like a 10-year-old. Who cares if the neighbors are watching? Barbecue like it's 4th of July or take that last end of summer getaway. Hike, day trip or road trip before it's time to knuckle down, get the kids off to school or college, and get back it work.

Enjoy the rest of your summer.
